I am probably the last person to catch on to this style statement... the boyfriend blazer has finally found me. I ended up being gifted a black linen one and I love it. I was considering taking out the shoulder pads that are deep within the lining of the jacket but I'll have to see what the ladies in my life think. As much as I love the 80's, not sure I love the 80's power pads.

Even though the return of shoulder pads is inevitable as is a whole lot of other 70's and 80's fashions ...'not even when “Bad” was at its baddest was dressing like [Michael] Jackson really what I would call “fashionable.”... But now it’s the most fashionable look you can go for, thanks to Balmain and its stiff, heavily embellished military-style jackets...Which brings us to Dynasty. Yes, yes, you all know about the return of shoulder pads. Nicolas Ghesquière has taken this trend to its natural conclusion with his collection at Balenciaga... The fact that his deep, plush, plunging evening dresses—with, of course, shoulder pads—were shown with that ultimate eighties staple, polka-dot tights, made me love them even more.' Hadley Freeman knows what she's talking about, style maven that she is. I still don't know though...
